This course is an introduction to modelling and Sculpting in Clay. It provides an overview of the process of Sculpting from Clay to the Casting Medium. It also includes use of armatures, types of material available for modelling, care and wrapping of sculptures, materials and tools required, basics processes for moulding and casting. Students will have the opportunity to work with both Water Based Clay, Air -dried Clay and Oil based Clay.I encourage all participants to let go of any "product" orientation and concentrate on "process learning" during our workshops. I believe this will greatly enhance your ability to learn and explore the art of sculpting and enable you to let go of any unhelpful self criticising talk that inhibits learning.It is my desire to give you the tools and the processes I myself have been trained in by French Master Sculptor Martine Vaugel and use in order to create my own sculptures.
